Pine needles and forest debris are the local signature. They are finer than oak leaves, they get past weir baskets more easily and they end up in the pump basket and the filter rather than floating where you can skim them. Filters here load faster than owners expect.
Shade from the mountain and the tree line means less direct sun, cooler water and slower recovery from any green patch. Pools in Tokai generally need more filtration hours than their size suggests, and heating is worth considering if you actually want to use the pool outside of high summer.
