The Helderberg gets a proper summer, which means the pools here get properly used and properly worked. Kwik Pools services Somerset West, Heldervue, Erinvale, Parel Vallei, Spanish Farm, Bizweni, Strand and Gordon’s Bay.

Somerset West and the Helderberg basin run hot through midsummer, and the combination of that heat with the wind coming off False Bay drives evaporation harder than most people budget for. Owners here top up more often than they expect, which creates a genuine diagnostic problem: it becomes very difficult to tell normal summer evaporation from an actual leak. That is why leak detection here starts with a proper bucket test rather than an assumption.
Heat also means chlorine demand. An unstabilised pool in Strand in February can lose most of its free chlorine in a single afternoon, and stabiliser levels matter more here than almost anywhere else in the metro.
A large slice of the Helderberg is estate living: Erinvale, Parel Vallei, the golf estates and the gated developments around Bizweni. That comes with contractor access procedures, working hour restrictions and rules about noise, deliveries and rubble. We work inside them rather than around them, and we book access properly rather than turning up and arguing at the gate.
Estate pools also tend to be well built and well positioned, which means they respond very well to heating and a cover. Getting swimming season from September to May here is realistic in a way it is not on the Atlantic side.

Both are plausible here, which is exactly why we bucket test first. Helderberg evaporation is heavy enough to look like a leak.
With a correctly sized heat pump and a cover, September through to May is realistic in this basin.
Yes. Access is booked through the estate’s contractor process and we work within their hours and rules.
