Clifton is about as exposed as it gets: steep, salt laden and windy, with pools built into terraces above the beaches. Kwik Pools services the area for private owners and rental properties.
Everything here is harder because of the terrain and the salt. Plant needs to be specified for a marine environment and housed properly, coping and surrounds need sealing, and access for any significant job needs planning rather than assuming a bakkie can pull up alongside.
Wind exposure means an uncovered pool loses heat quickly, so owners who want usable water outside of peak summer need heating and a cover working together rather than one on its own.
Because so many Clifton properties are let out at high rates, pool downtime is expensive in a way it is not elsewhere. We plan bigger jobs around booking calendars where we can, and we are honest when a job genuinely cannot be squeezed between guests.
