If there is a wind capital of Cape Town pool ownership, this is it. Kwik Pools services Table View and Flamingo Vlei weekly, and most of what we do here traces back to the southeaster in one way or another.
The wind does three things to a Table View pool, all of them expensive if ignored. It strips heat off the surface so the water never warms up the way it should. It drives evaporation hard, so you top up more than you expect and start wondering whether you have a leak. And it delivers sand and dust daily, which loads the filter and settles on the floor.
Because of that third point, a lot of Table View pools are running on a filter that is working far harder than the installer ever planned for. Sand beds channel earlier here and cartridges clog faster, and cloudy water that no amount of chlorine fixes is nearly always filtration rather than chemistry.
The single best investment on a pool in this area is a cover. It cuts the heat loss, cuts the evaporation and keeps most of the airborne sand out, which means fewer filter problems and less vacuuming. We will say that before we quote you for heating, because heating an uncovered pool on this strip is close to pointless.
