Atlantic Beach is a golf estate on the coast at Melkbosstrand, which means well built homes, estate rules and pools that take the full coastal exposure. Kwik Pools services the estate on the West Coast route.
Estate work has its own rhythm. Contractor access procedures, working hours, rules on deliveries, noise and rubble removal. We book access properly rather than arriving and negotiating at the gate, which sounds obvious and is apparently not universal.
The pools themselves face the same coastal conditions as the rest of Melkbos: salt on the plant, wind across the surface and sand in the water. Estate homes tend to have better specified equipment to start with, which helps, but nothing survives salt air indefinitely without maintenance.
A lot of these properties are second homes or are let out, so the pool needs to be right on arrival day whether the owner is in the country or not. We work to arrival schedules, send photos after each visit and flag anything that needs a decision rather than waiting to be asked.
