Walled courtyards change how a pool behaves. Wind is cut right down, which is good, but so is airflow and evaporation, and leaves that blow in tend to stay in. The water sits cooler and recovers more slowly than an open pool of the same size.
Shade is the other factor. Sitting under the mountain, large parts of Gardens lose direct sun early in the afternoon, particularly in winter, which keeps water temperatures down and gives algae a slower but steadier opportunity.
Access is the practical constraint on almost every job here. Narrow streets, no side entrance, shared driveways and steps to the back garden are normal, and they decide what is realistic. We check access before quoting anything involving draining or plant replacement, and we will tell you honestly when a job is not practical rather than starting it and discovering that halfway through.
