Panorama is full of established homes with pools that have been in the ground for decades, and that shapes almost every job we do here. Kwik Pools services Panorama weekly and we are five minutes away in Plattekloof.

Most Panorama pools were built in the seventies and eighties. They were built properly, but marbelite does not last forever and a lot of the surfaces here are now on their second or third life. Rough underfoot, patchy staining and chlorine demand that keeps climbing are the usual signs that resurfacing is due rather than another season of chemicals.
The other Panorama pattern is old plant. Pumps twice the size they need to be, filters that have never had a sand change, and plumbing that has been patched rather than replaced. Sorting that out usually drops the running cost immediately, which is a nicer conversation than the one about a new pump in January.
One thing worth knowing about older Panorama pools: when the surface finally goes, it is almost always cheaper to do the shell, the coping and the plant in one project than to chip away at it a year at a time. You drain once, you pay for access once, and the pool comes back looking new instead of patched.

Almost always yes. The shells built back then are solid, and resurfacing plus new plant costs far less than a new pool.
If it feels like sandpaper underfoot and stains come straight back after scrubbing, it is time.
Panorama is about five minutes from our base, so we are on this route constantly and can usually fit urgent work in quickly. Weekly, fortnightly and one off visits are all available, and you get a note after each visit with what was done and where the water sat.
